Volkswagen XL1 Concept

The Volkswagen XL1 Concept is the car of the future. It looks futuristic enough, with its lack of a rear view mirror and sleeky design, complete with hidden rear wheels.

To Lee, With Love, Nick

Tomorrow will be the first anniversary of Lee McQueen's tragic passing. Fashion house Alexander McQueen's driving force was a visionary and his bold designs drew the likes of Hollywood and beyond.

Katy Perry X OPI

Part of every girl's Teenage Dream is to always have a great manicure. Having pretty fingers makes us feel like Fireworks and although we might be stuck at work, one glance at our nails and it's almost like we are California Girls Waking Up in Vegas.

GQ "Rock The Suit”

It's not everyday that Andrew and Ben from MGMT suit up, but when they do work the snappy dressing, the duo clean up very very well.

GQ gathered some of the best and up-coming musicians now and ever. The National, The Walkmen, The Drums and the aforementioned MGMT all appear in GQ's "Rock the Suit", looking super duper dapper. Also in the spread, legendary legend (what other word is there?) David Byrne was in the company of two gorgeous ladies, posing with Santigold and St.Vincent for the magazine.

Karlie Kloss is one of the biggest names on the runway today, but when she started out, she was just a 15-year-old trying her hand at modelling.

Prezi Power

Decades ago, there was the slideshow; a clumsy machine with tiny little plastic square negatives that worked with the click of a button.

Then came the PowerPoint presentation. With all its animations, colours, clip art and flashy slide changes, the world of the business presentation was revolutionized.

Now that we're already more than a decade into the new millenium, it's only befitting that technological advancements pay a kindly visit to the 'old school' PowerPoint presentation. Hence, I present Prezi. Sure, it's been around for a while, but now more than ever, people are turning to this interactive presentation platform to make an impression at work or at school.

The concept is simple; a modern take on the traditional whiteboard. How does one simulate the whiteboard experience on the Internet? Your mouse is your laser pointer, and it will take you anywhere on your Prezi virtual mindmap. It's sort of like your own little RPG game; presentation style.

Boom De Ah Da

Probably one of my favourite commercials in recent years. Not only does this Discovery Channel have a super catchy jingle (Boom de ah da, boom de ah da, boom de ah da, boom de ah da), it's also got the educational channel's presenters and stars singing along and about what they love. Mike Rowe, the host of Dirty Jobs, crawls in a sewer while singing: "I love real dirty things", and Man Vs. Wild's Bear Grylls does his part with: "I love arachnids", while holding up a big, scary-looking tarantula.

Funny, heart-warming, personal and 100% Discovery Channel.

Days With My Father

Days With My Father is photographer Phillip Toledano's heartbreaking photo journal of his time with his father, after his mother passed away.

Beautiful photographs tell the story of a man past his prime and deteriorating in health, and a son's immense love for his ageing father. It'll have you sobbing in the corner after 3 pages.

Betty White's comeback

Betty White has always been our favourite Golden Girl, and at 78, she's making a comeback, starting with this outrageous Superbowl ad for Snickers.

Here's how it works (spoiler alert):

A bunch of fellas are playing football in the park, and they're all really into it. It's a big serious game. And then there's Betty White. The poor old lady can barely move. She gets a pep talk and a Snickers bar (of course) and transforms into an energetic man, really to score some winning touchdowns. Then comes the tagline: "You're not you when you're hungry".

Now if that ain't true, I don't know what is.
